We will offer XC Schooling on Sunday, Oct 19, after the Novice level is finished, beginning at 3P (or 30 min after the last ride) until 5P.
Please stop at the Show Office beforehand to pay your fee, collect a Schooling pinney and sign a Release form. The cost will be $20 for competitors in the event, $30 for others, payable to Team Challenge.
Sign ups will begin at 2:30P and all riders should clear the course and return the pinneys by 5P.
Check the Stabling Chart to see your stall assignments. This list has been provided to KY Horse Park personnel and to Devers Hay & Grain. Stall cards will be on the stall doors, and the charts will also be posted on the south ends of the barns and at the rear door of the Show Office. We are using the back set of barns, 13-21. If you have a problem with your stall, come to the Show Office so that we can notify Park Maintenance. Thanks!

Check Entry Status for the list of entries received as of Oct 4. Please verify that the info shown is correct. To ensure that you receive our messages, please add the event email address to your address book.
Riders who did not indicate a team have been added to teams that needed another rider. You may be moved again before we finalize the schedule if there are additional withdrawals. Don't worry, every rider will be on a team somewhere!
The riders entered in the 3Day should verify the format, CCI* with Steeplechase or CCI*-wo without Steeplechase. No movement between the two formats will be allowed after Oct 1.
Entries are Closed, and no additional entries will be accepted. For those of you who did not get into the event, we hope we see you next year!
Open Date for 3Day Entries: Aug 19; HT Entries: Sep 2!
All entries must be received by the secretary by Close, but traditionally we are filled weeks earlier. Mark you calendar!
Entry forms that can be filled in, printed and mailed are available here for your use. These forms are interactive (type from computer). Please read the comments which will assist you in correctly completing the forms. Note: All horse trials divisions are OPEN divisions.

3Day Schedule Change!
Show management for the Hagyard Midsouth CCI* is completely aware of the escalating costs for travel and accommodations at all of the events and so we have decided to condense the schedule for the 2008 3Day event.
We will do all of the CCI* dressage on Friday, Oct 17. This will mean that the Mandatory Competitor Briefing and First Formal Inspection will take place on Thursday, Oct 16, with Arrival Exams on Wednesday, Oct 15. We hope that this will offer each of you some relief on your expenses, while still providing enough time to thoroughly enjoy the experience of a true three day event.
Attention: Riders!
We have had numerous requests to add Beginner Novice teams to Team Challenge. The USEA has just approved the addition of BN level to our event. We will do a limited trial of this level on the following schedule:
Dressage [BN Test B Sm] Sat, Oct 18; Stadium and Cross-Country Sun, Oct 19. There will be adequate rest time between the two jumping phases. We will strictly limit the number of BN teams in order to fairly assess the new schedule.
Please note that we share the week this year with both a Mountain Saddle Horse show and a Dog Show at the Campgrounds, so the Park will be crowded. Make your plans early if you want to stay on-grounds.
Volunteers for this event are always welcome! We will be glad to work around your ride times. If you can help, please click on the Volunteers link in the left sidebar. We will be in touch!
This event is part of the 2008 AREA VIII SUCCEED® CHALLENGE SERIES. Click here for details.
The team competition at the Mid-South 3Day and Team Challenge HT in October is conducted in the following manner. Note that all HT divisions are OPEN divisions. Each of the team members, either 3 or 4 riders, will ride dressage at the same time in adjacent rings (which comprise the individual divisions), and then will jump both XC and show jumping in consecutive order. So, no team may have a rider on two or more horses. If teams have been submitted with a rider on multiple horses, the extra rides will be placed in the list of individual entries. Riders may contact the secretary to indicate which ride should be the first team horse.
We will schedule the teams that entered on Opening Date first, and then add teams and individual entries as we have room. All riders will be placed either on short teams of 3, or on composite teams that we assemble. All accepted riders will be listed online after the Draw Date. If a team member must be replaced, the secretary will backfill the vacancy from the waitlist unless the team indicates that they do not want substitutions. Teams which drop below three members after the Close Date (or before if we have exhausted our waitlist) will cease to exist as a team, but the remaining riders will still compete as individuals. Substitutions at the same level of either horse or rider, but not both, will be accepted if qualified for that level. Please understand that these policies are in place to treat the waitlisted riders fairly. Team scores are determined by adding together the lowest three scores from the team riders. All teams are encouraged to join in the fun of cross-country day by wearing safe, appropriate costumes!
Please read the article linked here for details on how we replace scratched riders on our teams, as well as options for teams who need to replace a rider.
Send your entries on Opening Date Sep 2 to give your team the best chance of getting into the event!
Attention: Competitors!
Many of our spectators are new to the sport of Eventing, and we want them to know you as more than just a number.
Is your horse an off-the-track-Thoroughbred? Is this your first or your horse’s first event? Is this a new horse, or perhaps your first Training Level event together? Maybe it is your birthday, or you are really proud of something you and your horse have accomplished this year. We want to know about your profession, your school/college, spouse/children, etc.
Please email some background information to our announcer Cyndi Kurth. Please complete these no later than Tue, Oct 14. This info will not be shared with anyone else! |
