Additional Information

The following divisions will be offered, unless the numbers are too few to support the division:

OP Open Preliminary - all riders and horses qualified for level.
JYOP Junior Young Rider Prel - all riders ages 14-21 [born 1987-1994]
OT Open Training - all riders and horses qualified for level.
TR Training Rider - rider cannot have completed 3 or more events at Prel in past 24 months.
TH Training Horse - horse may not have competed at Preliminary or higher.
ON Open Novice - all riders and horses qualified for level.
NR Novice Rider - rider cannot have completed 3 or more events at Trng in past 24 months.
NH Novice Horse - horse may not have competed at Training or higher.
Jumping Derby Levels - Open divisions at these levels will be offered: P, T, N, BN.

NOTE - USEA Rulebook Appendix III lists the qualifications for divisions. The USEA definition of completed for the Rider divs is stated as "having completed the entire HT, and ...having completed the XC test with no more than one disobedience."

Additional subdivisions based on Draw (A, B, etc) or Jr/Sr may be made as warranted by entries.

The Jumping Derby on Friday will be run as a USEA Test. The stadium courses will be different from the event courses for the HT, and will build from BN up through Prel during the day. You may enter consecutive levels if you choose.
The judging will be based on the Hunter model, from 1 to a perfect score of 100. Points will be awarded for penalties (40%), style (40%) and 'time closest to optimum' (20%). So you see, the consistent round with a cheap rail will beat the wild and crazy clean round every time! There will be ribbons for each group, and prizes for the top score at each level.
Riders may compete in the Jumping Derby even if not USEA members; a nonmember fee will be owed in this case. Also, riders in the Derby do not pay the USEA Starter and Drug&Meds fees.

Volunteers for this event are always welcome! We will be glad to work around your ride times. If you can help, please click on the Volunteers link in the left sidebar. We will be in touch!
