Attention: Riders A number or rule changes have been made by both the USEA and the USAEq. Please consult your 2003 rulebooks and the online information available at the organizations' websites for additional information. In particular, please note that every horse competing in USAEq recognized competitions must have a HORSE ID NUMBER. Horses competing in Eventing may use either their existing USAEq or USEA life recording number. If you have not completed a Horse ID application (free of charge) please contact the USAEq either by mail, fax or at their website. All horses competing in USEA Horse Trials and Events must comply with current USEA registration requirements. Exceptions apply to horses of foreign competitors. REGARDING HEADWEAR: At all levels of eventing competition, from beginner novice through advanced, wearing a hard hat is compulsory for anyone riding a horse on the flat. Protective headgear secured by harness must be worn while jumping any obstacle. Violation of these rules shall be penalized and may result in elimination. In addition, MEDICAL ARMBANDS are required any time while jumping. The new green armband must be enclosed in a transparant waterproof carrier and securely attached to the upper arm on the outside of all clothing. COMPETITION NUMBERS must be worn at all times when a horse is being exercised or ridden.
