Schooling at Spring Bay

Schooling at Spring Bay
Posted by Event Mgmt. on Fri 21 Mar, 2008
Attention: Competitors & Friends of Spring Bay!

Spring Bay HT in partnership with the Masterson Equestrian Trust Foundation (MET) will offer XC Schooling April 12-13, following the end of the event XC phase. The exact time intervals for each day will be posted here as soon as the schedule for the event is completed. The cross-country courses used for the event, including all portable fences, will remain in place for your use, and medical personnel will be on grounds.
The $25 fee collected from each rider will kick off the fundraising effort for the renovation/reconstruction of the water complex for the Preliminary and Training level XC courses. The project will begin right after Rolex 2008, and we hope to have the complex ready for fall competitions, clinics and schooling this year.
A great deal of planning and time has been devoted to this important project, and you can see a sketch of the proposed complex in the 2008 Spring Bay show program. The projected cost is $25000 - $35000, and we need the full support of the riding community to see it to fruition. MET has graciously offered to sponsor the project, which means that all donations are tax-deductible. Spring Bay LLC will be the financial underwriter of the project and will oversee its completion. The new sand dressage arenas this year are an example of the improvements that MET has already been able to make at Masterson. Please use the donation envelopes you find in your packets to offer additional support to MET and to Masterson Station Park.
Tremendous thanks go to Mary Fike and Aaron Rust for their time and expertise on the design of the project, and to Michael Etherington-Smith and Derek di Grazia for their consultation and approval of the construction plan. Thanks also to the LFUCG Department of Parks for their support of the project, permission for the construction and assistance in these difficult economic times.
Check back in the next few weeks for the details on where to sign up for schooling, procedures and exact dates and times. Thanks for your support!
