| New KHP Grounds Fees for Trailers | |
| Posted by Event Mgmt. on Thu 15 Mar, 2007 | |
Attention: Competitors!
The KY Horse Park will charge two fees for access to the show grounds during competition beginning this season. Each passenger vehicle must display a Parking Pass, purchased at the Main Gate into the Park. Prices are $3/day or $5/entire duration of an event; or $25 for a yearly seasonal pass.
In addition, a new Grounds Permit will be required for each horse trailer or van that is used for daily exhibitors who are not stabled in the permanent stabling (haul-in riders). These passes will be sold through the Event Show Office until the KHP gets a new Stabling Gate constructed. The fee for 2007 is $20/each day of competition, or $75 for a yearly seasonal sticker.
The day passes will have the date affixed, and will be checked on each day. The KHP plans to use the funds to support the additional grounds maintenance required in the Day Parking areas and to construct a new Day Parking area with improved lighting and other facilities. All fees collected are payable to the KHP. The various events will not benefit directly from these charges.

Will there be seasonal passes available at Spring Bay? Reply to this comment

Yes, the Special Events Office will be supplying each event with a stack of both types of passes. We will be expected to display them only on Sun, so that will be the day we plan to sell them. They can be purchased directly from Special Events ahead of time at their office at the West end of the Show Office Building. Reply to this comment

Is it ONLY for haul-in trailers? Not trailers that are stabling? And do we have to have proof we are stabled there? Reply to this comment

Only for those not stabled on-grounds. The KHP can verfiy stabled riders' names with the events should that need arise. It is not likely to be an issue, according to their plans. Reply to this comment
