Attention: Riders!
The USEA has implemented a new charge for phone calls to the office placed to handle membership issues. The message posted on their website follows: New Phone Service Fee June 6, 2005 If at all possible, please mail or fax your membership renewals and horse registrations, as well as merchandise or supply orders, to the office in a timely manner. The Membership Department is currently inundated with calls from members wanting to take care of these items over the phone at the last minute, which delays the processing of our other members' requests. Therefore, effective immediately, a $10 service fee will be charged for all registrations, memberships, and event supply orders taken by phone. The date of this change is noteworthy, since our event in late May may have contributed to the implementation of this charge. Fully 10% of the riders entered in our event had either lapsed rider memberships or horse registrations that were needed. PLEASE check your membership cards and confirm early on when you need to renew them. The delays at the USEA office are only one part of the problem. Busy show secretaries should not have to individually contact each of you and make sure this paperwork gets handled, so that you can ride and enjoy the events you have entered. This advice of course also applies to your USEF and FEI memberships and registrations. Any of these organizations will be happy to assist you via Email or fax (or a letter! remember those?) if you begin the process early enough. Help yourselves out here, and us as well! | |
