Texas has experienced outbreaks of Equine Piroplasmosis in several counties, and the Ky Dept of Agriculture has issued new requirements for horses entering Kentucky from Texas.
Until further notice, horses arriving to Kentucky for shows and events from Texas will be required to test negative for “Piro” (Equine Piroplasmosis/T. equigenitalis). Any horses arriving from Texas without a negative test will be denied entry. All other requirements remain the same in regard to EIA (Coggins) and health certificates. |
